What we don't do, and why
We are not a personal care agency and we are not registered with the Care Quality Commission. We think it is important you know that before you ring.
We do not help with washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, medication management, wound care, moving and handling, or any clinical task.
That means we are not the right service if someone needs help with their body, their medication, or nursing care. If that is what you need, we will point you towards a CQC-registered domiciliary care provider who can do it safely and legally.
Staying clear of personal care is not a limitation we hide. It is a deliberate boundary that keeps the people we visit safe, and it means our companions can focus on what they are best at: company, practical help, and a watchful eye.
What we will do if needs change
People's needs change. If someone we visit starts to need personal care, we will tell you honestly, help you find the right service, and support the handover. We will not carry on pretending we can do something we cannot.
What we do instead
- Company and conversation
- Help around the house, shopping and errands
- Meal preparation
- Lifts to appointments and social visits
- Check-in visits with a written report to the family
- Sitting services so family carers can have time off
If you are unsure whether we can help, ring us. We will tell you straight.
